Bright & Shiny New!!

My wonder-of-a-husband worked hard this summer (in the searing heat!!) to enclose our patio and make it into our beautiful new classroom.
We managed to finish in just the nick of time...but it was completely worth it. We have all loved our new space.
It is truly perfect.
...and just the right size!! It is going to be a wonderful year!!

Goldilocks & The 3 Bears

Our School Play
The very last month we studied Fairytales. So, on our last day, we performed our very own original version of Goldilocks & The 3 Bears. My mom (lovingly called "Grandma" by all the preschool kids), created the cutest little script for our play and helped bring it all to life!! All our parents came and watched the performance and enjoyed our bear-themed treats that followed!!

One of the best moments was when Hannah (playing Goldilocks' big sister) completely fell out of the playhouse window- right in the middle of the play!! Every play needs just a little bit of spice!!
All in all, it was such a fun way to wrap up our fun and exciting school year!! I am already missing all our preschool kids BIG TIME!!!
Aren't they the ABSOLUTE CUTEST?!!!!

Tis the Season

Just before Summer...we have to squeeze in celebrating all our summer birthdays. It makes for one FABULOUS month!!
Happy Birthday Sofia!!
Sofia was soooooo excited to celebrate her birthday at school!! She loved her picture and frame that I gave her....but even more, she loved that (since I experimented printing it at home) the black on her hair would rub off and turn this bright blue. I think she thought having blue hair was the coolest thing!!
So Cute!!!
It was a fun day!!!

Birthdays...

Happy Birthday Jaxon!!!
Since Jaxon is a summer birthday, we got to celebrate him during the month of May!! He was probably just a little confused that he didn't have any presents waiting at home when he came back from school that day!! But he had a BLAST having his own special day at preschool!!
These pictures are just soooo Jaxon, they make me chuckle!! He's such a fun kid!!
Happy Birthday Jax!!

Birthdays!!!

Happy Birthday Hannah!!!
This is my little Hannah!! What a fun day she had celebrating....Her!!!
By the time we were finished, EVERYONE was some shade of blue!! Serves me right for buying Sponge Bob cupcakes!! But they still loved them!!

And MORE Birthdays!!

Happy Birthday Hayden!!
His mom let him choose his birthday treat...and what else would he choose but Cheetos and Fudgesicles!! What a cutie!!! He always makes me laugh!!
There's the fun little frame I made him. He loved it!!
CHEESE!!!

"The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss

Happy Earth Day
(tree planting)
The kids (and I) looked forward to this all week long. It was the perfect way to bring the book to life, and celebrate the importance of Earth Day. My husband came home to help. The kids all jumped in to help put in the tree,
surround it with good soil,
(and get a little dirty in the process)
give it plenty of water,
and then smile at their accomplishment!!
Even now, the kids will ask how "their" tree is doing. I love it!!!

"The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins" by Dr. Seuss

Crazy Hat Day
We had one FUN & CRAZY day wearing our hats. And we even made some fun hats...but they weren't nearly as cute as the ones the wore to school. My favorite was the little boy with the top hat. He wore a bunch of his sister's flower clips attached to the hat. He thought it was the coolest thing ever. I loved it!!!

"Horton Hears A Who" by Dr. Seuss

Our Little Who-Ville
We only had a small little class this day, which worked great for making our own little Who Flowers!! We colored a white pom-pom pink with markers and attached them to green pipe cleaners.
Then we glued on our little speck.
Because "a person's a person, no matter how small"!!! I love this book!!

"I Can Read With One Eye Shut" by Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss Reading Day
The kids loved reading all the Dr. Seuss books while cuddling with some of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters!! One of the kids would ask me to read them one of the books, and pretty soon we were surrounded by the whole gang!! It was so cute.
And, thanks to a late night, this little one was having a VERY tired day. So our "reading party" quickly became nap time for this cutie!! Poor girl!! But it was definitely worth a picture.

"Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss

Sock Puppets
This was a bit of a creative challenge...since I'm really not sure I've ever actually made sock puppets. But the kids loved them and we had a great time making them!!

And, of course, the puppets had to spend some time visiting with each other!! Their "puppet voices" were definitely the BEST!!!

"The Butter Battle Book" by Dr. Seuss

The Sock Battle
We took some of my husband's socks, rolled them up....and had ourselves one CRAZY sock battle!! The kids teamed up, boys against girls...and even then, I think the boys were kickin' booty!! Just look at those faces!!!

They loved being able to BATTLE!! And what better way than with socks!!

"Horton Hatches An Egg" by Dr. Seuss

Easter Egg Hunt
What a perfect way to combine Easter eggs and Dr. Seuss!! We hid the eggs, and gave each of the kids a bag with a different colored handle. Then, they had to look for eggs with the corresponding color of sticker on them!!
They had fun finding the eggs...
And helping each other!!!
And in the end, there were no hurt feelings, just a WHOLE lot of candy!!

"The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss

Our Footwear Fashion Show
The kids had a lot of fun struttin' their stuff down our make-shift fashion walk way. As you can see, there aren't any boys in this picture. They weren't so interested in struttin'!!
We put some desks together...
Turned on some fun music...
And away they went!!!
And, of course, our little mascot wanted a turn to do what the big kids did!!
They loved it so much, we had to do it a few times!! I think posing for the pictures was their most favorite part!! We definitely have some models in the making!!

Our Seussical Unit!!!

We started into the most FABULOUS unit!! A unit that is all about Dr. Seuss and his books!! To say it's been a FUN unit wouldn't even do it justice!! We have had a truly wonderful time.

Audrey's Big Day!!

Happy Birthday to Audrey!!!
I forgot to take a picture of Audrey's special birthday frame that I made her for her special day...but here is the picture that I took to go inside of it!! Doesn't she look wonderfully cute and sassy!!
And here we are celebrating her big day!! Audrey brought cupcakes....and they were BEYOND delicious!! My dieting went completely out the window in honor of this special day (and the especially yummy treats!!).
Of course the kids are all lovin' the birthdays...and all the fun that comes with them!!
Who doesn't love to celebrate...and BE celebrated!!!

Happy Birthday Iris

Happy Birthday to Iris!!
Birthdays are so important that we had a blast making it a special day for Iris!!
We all helped make her a birthday banner...
enjoyed some delicious treats (courtesy of Iris)...
Iris got a special gift from me, Miss Jessica...
And the kids all got to give her a great big birthday hug!!!
It was so wonderful to have a day to celebrate Iris!!!

Dinosaur Field Trip

To complete our Dino Unit, we went to the Arizona Museum of Natural History. It was such a fun day!! We had made some "Junior Paleontologist" badges (that we wore as necklaces). And had a great time exploring all the fun things at the museum!!

The green screen was a total hit with the kids. They loved watching themselves disappear!!
It really was pretty cool!!

And of course we spent a lot of time waiting for the waterfall...but it was definitely worth it!!

We all had a great time...and maybe even learned a little something new about dinosaurs!!
